Summer Youth Dance Camp

Superior Ballroom Dance Studio is excited to offer the 1st official Ballroom and Latin Dance camp in Duluth. Kids will have the opportunity to learn not only the basics of ballroom and latin dance, but also the etiquette and discipline associated with proper ballroom and latin dance. Each level will learn the basics of cha cha, rumba, swing, salsa, waltz, tango and foxtrot from the nationally recognized DVIDA syllabus while practicing the proper etiquette and grace associated with the art of ballroom dance. On the final day of the session, friends and parents are invited to attend a short ceremony where certificates will be presented after a performance that will showcase 1-2 dances learned during the program.

Sessions begin July 14 and run MWF through August 8th. (12 classes including ceremony) Students are allowed up to 2 absences. After 2 absences or if a student desires to supplement their lessons, they can schedule private or make-up sessions for an additional $25/session.

Certificate ceremonies and performances will be held during normal session times on Friday, August 8th.

Young men: Black dress pants, black socks, clean black t-shirt with rounded or mock collar, black leather dance shoes. Combed hair.

Young ladies: Black short sleeved leotard, short black ruffle skirt, nude or suntan nylons, nude dance sandals. Hair combed and pulled back. Minimal jewelry as approved by instructor.

Shoes and uniforms must be approved by or ordered through Superior Ballroom Dance Studio by June 16th.

SBDS orders all ladies dancewear through Randall Designs and all dance shoes through Dancelife USA.
